FAQ

Kantipur Planetarium is an educational initiative that brings the universe to you! We operate an inflatable, portable full-dome theater that travels to schools, colleges and public events across Nepal. We are operating 4 units now. Our mission is to spark curiosity and provide immersive, state-of-the-art astronomy experiences, filling the gap in traditional education by providing virtual simulations of space and real-time observation sessions. We are currently working toward establishing Nepal's first permanent mini space center.

We primarily operate within the Kathmandu Valley, but we frequently travel across various regions of Nepal for bookings and events. Contact us directly with your location details to confirm if we can bring the dome to you!

We generally require a clear indoor space (like auditorium, a school hall or large common room) with minimum dimensions of approximately 6 meters to 12 meters in diameter and 3.5 meters to 6.5 meters ceiling height [ depending upon the size of DOME we use]. Please provide venue dimensions when requesting a quote.

You can book an event by emailing us at kantipurplanetarium@gmail.com or calling us at +977-9851006989 or +977-9861448217. We will coordinate dates, show selection, and pricing based on your audience size and location.

We offer a wide variety of shows tailored for all age groups, from young children (pre-school level content) to high school students and adults. We customize the experience based on your audience's age and curriculum needs.

Our library includes guided tours of the night sky, educational films about space exploration, constellation identification, cosmology discussions, and general astronomy topics.

Our experienced presenters deliver a mix of engaging live commentary and pre-recorded, high-definition digital shows to provide the best educational experience.
